Ch 1 highlights the importance of differentiation in the classroom and the positive effects it has on test scores. The chapter discusses in detail about effective ways to differentiate, such as giving students choice in what they learn, making connections to students' previous experiences, helping students become more aware of how they learn, and addressing the multiple learning modes.
