We had a wonderful time learning with our special guest, Vickie Brown! Our students explored different parts of plants to discover which parts we can eat.

A big thank you to Turner County Farm Bureau for taking the time to visit with our students and bring such a fun, hands-on learning experience to our Ag classroom! We loved learning, exploring, and making connections to the food we eat every day!

Mrs. Law’s 3rd-grade class had an amazing hands-on history lesson! 🏜️ They have been learning all about Native American cultures, and the students were able to examine and touch real artifacts from Mrs. Law's travels to Arizona!

The class explored authentic arrowheads, pottery, and a beautiful painting from the Navajo tribe. 🏹🏺🎨 It was such a fun and interactive way to learn about the tribes in America and bring our curriculum to life. Check out the pictures below of our students interacting with these incredible pieces of history! 📸👇

🎉 Huge shoutout to Mr. Sims for launching an awesome new monthly classroom incentive program! 🎉

Here’s how it works: Every month, each teacher receives 4 special student vouchers—2 for a snack and 2 for our Book Vending Machine! 🍫📚 Teachers get to set their own classroom goals and choose exactly how their students can earn these awesome rewards.

Today, we are celebrating these amazing students who just traded in their vouchers to pick out a brand new book! 📖✨ Check out the pictures below to see those proud smiles.

Keep up the great work, everyone! We can’t wait to see who earns the next round of vouchers. 👏

🐾 Groovy buttons, braille, and a very special four-legged guest in the Turner County Elementary Library! 📚

To support our wonderful blind kindergarten student and help his classmates understand how he learns to read, Mrs. Register recently created a dedicated Braille section in the media center. Today, our class joined Ms. Wood’s class for a truly special library time to see braille literacy in action!

We were honored to welcome Turner County’s own Mr. Marty McLeod and his guide dog, Lumin. Mr. Marty read the crowd favorite Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons completely in Braille! The students were captivated watching his fingers fly across the page. 🐱✨

After storytime, Mr. Marty demonstrated how Lumin guides him around and explained how his harness works when he's on the job. It was an unforgettable lesson in empathy, accessibility, and the power of reading.

A huge thank you to Mr. Marty and Lumin for sharing their morning with us and inspiring our young learners! 💙🦮

The 3rd graders in Mrs. Morris’ class became young geologists as they explored, observed, and sorted a variety of rocks!

As part of our science learning, students practiced sorting rocks based on their observable properties. They carefully examined each rock, paying attention to characteristics such as color, size, shape, texture, and appearance. Students worked together to compare their rocks, discuss
their observations, and decide how they could group them.

The classroom was filled with excitement as students handled real rock samples and worked to
determine what made each one similar or different. Through this hands-on investigation, students learned that scientists use observations and properties to classify and organize materials.

Mrs. Morris’ 3rd graders had a rockin’ good time learning science through exploration!

We may have a few future geologists in the making….
