‼️‼️‼️PRESS REALEASE‼️‼️‼️

On Thursday May 14, 2026 the Little River County Sheriffs Office responded to a report of an adult male attempting to get a child in the vehicle with him. Sergeant Russell Hopkins responded to the scene and spoke with the mother of a 12 year old girl who was involved in the incident. The mother was able to intervene and prevent her child from leaving with the adult male. The adult male fled the scene prior to Sgt. Hopkins arriving. Through an investigation and help from multiple agencies, Sgt Hopkins was able to positively identify 28 year old Jaqualiyan Whitaker of Shreveport Louisiana as the suspect in this case. Whitaker was taken into custody at approximately 12:30am this morning. We at the Little River Sheriffs office would like to give a special thanks to the mother of this child for her vigilance in watching over her child and her quick action. We would like to also extend a special thanks to all the agencies who assisted in apprehending this suspect quickly.

PRESS RELEASE:

The Little over County Sheriffs Office is currently investigating a shooting that took place on highway 71 south of Ashdown. One individual did sustain a non-life threatening injury as a result of the incident. Information is limited at this time and the investigation is ongoing. !!!DUMPING SUSPECTS LOCATED!!!

The suspects responsible for dumping trash have been located thanks to the publics help. The mess is currently being cleaned up and criminal charges are in place. A special thanks to the public for your help in locating them.

We need the public’s help locating 16 year old Dayton Seifert. Dayton is in no trouble but we need to get him back home to his mother. He drives a 2006 Pewter color Chevrolet truck. Dayton frequents the Tom, Winthrop and Allene areas. If you have any information about his location, please contact the Little River County Sheriffs Office at 870-898-5115 or feel free to message on here.

The Little River Sheriffs Office has received several concerning reports of individuals in the area offering driveway repair services. This is just a reminder that it is a violation of county ordinance for individuals to attempt to door to door sale these type of services. Please be vigilant and contact the sheriffs office if you have any concerns.
