Today, Asheboro Fire officially placed our new Engine 21 in service during a traditional “Push In” Ceremony.

The Push In Ceremony dates back to the days of horse-drawn fire apparatus, when firefighters would physically push the equipment back into the station after returning from calls. Today, the tradition symbolizes teamwork, pride, and the beginning of a new chapter of service to our community.

We are proud to place Engine 21 into service and look forward to many years of protecting the citizens of Asheboro with this new apparatus. Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate this special milestone with us!

Last night’s showdown: 🔥 AFD vs APD Dodgeball 🔥

Let’s just say… we brought the heat AND the aim 😎

After some serious competition, a few questionable dodges, and at least one “I swear that didn’t hit me!” moment… AFD came out on top! 🏆

Huge shoutout to APD for bringing the energy and keeping us on our toes (and occasionally on the floor). We might wear different uniforms, but at the end of the day, it’s all about teamwork, on and off the court.

Proud of the camaraderie, friendly competition, and the relationships we continue to build with our partners at APD.

Until next time… we’ll let them start practicing now 😉
