Its Fire Prevention month again so we at Ulah Vol. Fire Department tried to reach out to the children in our district.

We invited UCA elementary to our department on Thursday to give them a few tutorials and information on how to handle themselves in a house fire. I think we had as much fun as the kids did.

Thank you UCA for making this possible. Thanks is also in order for all those who participated on Thursday and volunteered their time to make this possible.

Ulah Vol. Fire Department had a great time participating in "Boo at the Zoo" on Saturday. We were one of many departments and organizations who came out to ensure the kids had a great time.

Just a heads up!! Many supplies are still needed for those in western NC! Ulah Vol Fire Dept was just informed that Swatchworks of Asheboro is taking donations for children's supplies. Anything is appreciated, and thanks to everyone in advance!

Urgent! Several children's facilities just found without supplies! For safety reasons we are not sharing the locations.

Need immediately!

-New and gently used toys.
-Warm clothes new and gently used.
-Child friendly foods.
-Child and infant medications.
-Blankets - New or cleaned.
-Water.
-Purified infant water.
-Empty 2 liters for grey water.

These kids have nothing!

We are now hiring full time!!! Ulah Fire Department is now accepting applications for a career position of "Firefighter / Driver Operator"! See our job flyer for requirements and other information. Applications may be picked up at our headquarters station located at "2067 Pisgah Covered Bridge Road, Asheboro, N.C." between the hours of 8 AM - 4 PM, Monday through Friday Or can be downloaded at our departments website.

Ulah Vol. Fire Department is taking up donations for the western part of NC. If you would like to donate any items, please bring them to station 11 at 2067 Pisgah Covered Bridge Rd. You can drop off your items anytime between 8am and 6pm. If no one is there due to calls etc. please leave them at the front door and someone will get them. We are trying to get a trailer load by Friday if possible and be delivering them Saturday. The items that are needed are water, food, cleaning supplies, batteries, diesel fuel, baby formula, generators, camp stoves, brooms, clorox wipes, non perishable food items etc. If you can't deliver them to the station but want to donate then call our dept. at 629-1966. Or message this post and we will be happy to pick them up.

Ulah Vol. Fire Department participated with Seagrove Rural Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. In Southern Randolph Country Days. Those who participated were Deputy chief Larry Lewallen, Leiutenant Wally Wilson, FF Ethan Davis and Jimmy Lanier. Thanks guys!
