The healthier the soil, the more microorganisms it can support, along with greater diversity that helps cycle nutrients and support plant growth. In poor soils, both the number and variety of microorganisms drop, which weakens the soil system and reduces its ability to support healthy plants. ๐Ÿชฑ๐ŸคŽ

It's , and what a great time to announce some new NC Certified Environmental Educators! Kathryn Reis, an educator with Randolph County Soil and Water Conservation District, recently completed the N.C. Office of Environmental Education and Public Affairs administered program. Kathryn says participating in the certification program helped advance her career. โ€œI have engaged in environmental education off and on, mostly as a volunteer, since 1994. Participation in this certification program equipped me with more knowledge about environmental educationโ€™s history, reputable techniques and available curriculum." https://teachablemomentsnc.blogspot.com/2026/04/educator-spotlight-kathryn-reis.html

Randolph Community College (RCC) is teaming up with the The Bryan School of Business & Economics at UNCG, and the Randolph County Cooperative Extension to enhance the training and workforce skills of our local agricultural community. As agriculture evolves, RCC aims to offer short-term, practical, and accessible training programs tailored to the needs of farmers, workers, and aspiring agricultural professionals.
