Today, Westside Fire & Rescue pauses to honor and remember the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Memorial Day is more than a long weekend or the beginning of summer β€” it is a time to reflect on the courage, selflessness, and dedication of those who gave their lives protecting the freedoms we enjoy every day.

As first responders, we understand the meaning of service, sacrifice, and commitment to something greater than ourselves. We are humbled by the heroes who answered the call of duty and never returned home. Their bravery and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

We also extend our deepest gratitude to the military families who carry the weight of that sacrifice each and every day. Your strength, resilience, and unwavering support do not go unnoticed.

Today, we encourage our community to take a moment to remember our fallen heroes, honor their legacy, and cherish the freedoms they fought to protect.

From all of us at Westside Fire Rescue, thank you to the men and women who gave everything for our nation. We remember you today and always. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Last night, Westside Fire & Rescue crews spent the evening training on rural water supply operations using the brush truck, floating pump, and drop tank setup. Members practiced drafting from a static water source, setting up portable tanks, maintaining steady water flow, and sharpening pump operations and communication on scene.

Training like this is critical for responding in areas without hydrants and ensures we’re prepared to move water quickly and efficiently during rural structure and brush fires. Every training night helps build stronger teamwork, better coordination, and greater confidence when real emergencies happen.

Proud of the hard work and dedication shown by everyone who came out and put in the time last night. Always thankful for a crew committed to serving and protecting our community. πŸš’πŸ”₯
