A Love Letter to Our Community 💙

Dear Asheboro,

You show up.

You show up when our students need a little extra encouragement. You show up when a classroom needs supplies, when a teacher deserves to feel appreciated, when a family needs support, and when a student needs someone to help them see what is possible.

You open doors. You share your time, your talents, your resources, your experiences, and your belief in what our children can become.

Because of you, students explore careers, discover new interests, build skills, meet mentors, experience the real world of work, and begin imagining futures they may not have known were possible.

Because of you, families find resources and support. Teachers feel valued. Classrooms are strengthened. Students are celebrated. Barriers are removed. Opportunities grow.

And sometimes, your impact happens quietly, behind the scenes, without recognition or applause. But we see it. And our students feel it.

Hundreds of community partners and thousands of volunteer hours have helped make Asheboro City Schools stronger. Together, you remind us that educating children has never been the responsibility of schools alone.

It takes all of us.

So, to every person, business, organization, volunteer, and community member who has ever said "yes" to our students: "thank you."

Thank you for believing in them.
Thank you for investing in them.
Thank you for showing up.
Thank you for helping them discover who they are and who they can become.

When you stand behind our students, you aren't simply supporting a school district.

"You are helping shape the future of our community."

And for that, Asheboro City Schools is deeply, genuinely, and forever grateful.

With love,
Asheboro City Schools 💙

It truly takes a community. And we are so grateful for ours. Thanks for helping families be prepared, present, and positive for the 2026-2027 school year through donations and giveaways. We just wanted the world to hear our thanks!

📚 We’re getting ready for our Blue Comets! ☄️💙

While our students are still counting down the days until their return, our teachers spent today stepping back into the role of student! 🎓✏️

Today, teachers experienced a full course load led by our school’s instructional leaders, spending the morning strengthening the foundation of our core instruction. They became better equipped to:

🗣️ Create talk-ready classrooms where students think, communicate, and learn together
📖 Strengthen literacy across all content areas
🔄 Understand the role of MTSS in supporting our students and schoolwide operations
🚀 Implement high-impact instruction that maximizes student engagement

We wrapped up the afternoon with a variety of elective courses, giving everyone a chance to learn, laugh, collaborate, and add a few new tools to their teacher toolbox! 🎨🎶💡

We’re leaving today better equipped than we were when we arrived and we can’t wait to put our learning into practice with our students!

The countdown is on… Comet Nation, we’re ready for you! ☄️💙❤️

Please join us in congratulating our very own, Dr. Anders!! 👨‍🎓

A big Asheboro City Schools congratulations to the newest Dr. Anders!

On June 12, Dr. John Anders, Assistant Principal at North Asheboro Middle School, successfully defended his dissertation, "School Administrators' Perceptions of Parental School Choice in Rural North Carolina Amongst Hispanic/Latinx Populations," through Arkansas State University, earning his doctorate.

This incredible accomplishment reflects his dedication to learning, educational leadership, and serving students and families. We are proud to have Dr. Anders as part of the Asheboro City Schools family and can't wait to see the impact he'll continue to make.

Even during summer break, our Blue Comets continue to seek out opportunities to learn, lead, and grow! This week, four of our students represented NAMS at the Randolph County Sheriff's Office Junior Sheriff's Academy. 🚔💙

Throughout the week, they challenged themselves through daily physical training, team-building activities, leadership development, and hands-on experiences with law enforcement and emergency responders. Cadets learned about internet and water safety, first aid, specialized Sheriff's Office units including K-9, Motor Unit, and SERT, while building confidence, teamwork, discipline, and problem-solving skills.

Congratulations to Liam, Edward, Sophia, and Mya for successfully completing the Junior Sherriff’s Academy and for taking advantage of this outstanding opportunity to grow as future leaders in our community. We are proud of our Blue Comets! ☄️ 💫

Please join us in welcoming Ms. Brumley to our Blue Comet team! ☄️ 💫
