🦎We had a fantastic time unearthing creatures old and new today with the North Carolina Zoo! We got to take a look at ancient fossils from long ago and meet some current critters of the earth. Thank you to the NC Zoo for teaching us about these amazing animals and to our friends, the African millipede and Smoky Dan the salamander, for making a special appearance!🪏

📚The Asheboro Public Library is part of the Asheboro-Seagrove Reading Trail! This FREE summer program runs from June 15 to August 15 and provides a fun family activity centered around books.

Families can travel to each stop on the trail to read a book together, collecting a stamp in the process. All children who complete the entire map will receive a small prize, and will be entered to win the grand prize drawing. Our reading nook can be located in the Asheboro Children’s Room.

There are 26 new bestsellers, seven new audiobooks, 23 new children's books, and 49 other new books, including 35 that are available online.

The new bestsellers this week include "Whistler," "Whistler," and "Rocket's Red Glare."

Last week, Matt Sandbanks Shadow Factory joined us at our Summer Reading Kick-Off for a fantastic shadow puppet performance. We cannot thank all the performers enough for their great work, and are excited for what else is to come!🦖
