Today was an active and productive day for the Ulah Volunteer Fire Department, marked by critical multi-agency training and active community involvement.

Members of Station 11 attended Seagrove Rural Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. to participate in a joint live-burn training exercise. Live-fire scenarios are essential for maintaining operational readiness, honing core firefighting skills, and ensuring seamless inter-agency communication and coordination during structure fires.

Following the training exercise, Ulah personnel showed their ongoing support for local community initiatives by participating in the annual Strides for Safety Walk, hosted by the Family Crisis Center.

Whether responding to emergencies or supporting local advocacy efforts, the members of the Ulah Volunteer Fire Department remain dedicated to serving and protecting our community.🔥🚒🐶🐾

Tonight, members of the Ulah Fire Department joined our brothers and sisters from Westside Fire & Rescue, Farmer, Seagrove, and Tabernacle Fire Departments for hands-on water haul and drafting operations.
In rural fire service, establishing a continuous, reliable water supply where hydrants aren't available is vital. Our crews practiced drafting from a static source, running tanker shuttle loops, dumping into drop tanks, and sustaining master stream flows.
A big THANK YOU to Westside Fire & Rescue for hosting and organizing this excellent training session! Working alongside our neighboring mutual aid partners sharpens our skills, builds seamless communication, and ensures we are always ready to serve our communities together.

Randolph Community College hosted their first stair climb to honor the fallen first responders of September 11,2001. The participants climbed 2,200 stairs to represent the 110 stories of the World Trade Center. We want to give a special Thank you to everyone that took part in this incredible event. Shout out to one of our own Lt. D. Williamson who participated representing Ulah Fire Department.

On this September 11th, we want to take a moment to sincerely thank everyone who stopped by the Ulah Fire Department to show their appreciation for our firefighters and our service. We are honored to serve such a caring community.

On September 11, 2001, courage defined the impossible.

Today marks 25 years since 343 firefighters and 60 police officers gave everything in the line of duty. Ulah Fire Department pauses to honor their sacrifice and remember every life taken on that tragic day.

We hold space for the families left behind and honor the brothers and sisters in emergency services who carried the torch forward.

In remembrance of the heroes we lost 25 years ago today, we will sound our station siren at the key moments of the event listed below.

American Airlines Flight 11: Stuck the North Tower of the World Trade Center at 8:46am
United Airlines Flight 175: Stuck the South Tower of the World Trade Center at 9:03am
American Airlines Flight 77: Crashed into the Pentagon at 9:37am
United Airlines Flight 93: Crashed into a field in Pennsylvania at 10:03am

Today, a few of our members hit the greens at Pinewood Country Club for the Randolph County Sheriff's Office, NC C.A.R.E. Classic Golf Tournament! ⛳️

We had a great time hitting the course for a fantastic cause. A huge thank you to all the sponsors, donors, and organizers who put together such an awesome event. We might not be bringing home the trophy this time, but there’s always next year! 🏌️‍♂️

In March, our department sent members to attend classes at Randolph Community College's weekend fire school. These participants applied the knowledge acquired to train themselves and others back at the station. We're grateful for Randolph Community College's and the instructors' contributions to our professional development. We're committed to utilizing this knowledge to enhance our performance and share best practices.🔥🚒
