The Friends of the West Asheville Library assist our public library in making the community aware of its services and its needs. Furthermore, they supplement the majority of funding for adult’s and children’s programming. They also purchase furniture and equipment that is not available through county funds. The Friends are a source of volunteers and are visible supporters of the library's mission.
Each library branch Friends group holds their own fund-raisers for their chapter. All membership dues collected in the name of the West Asheville Library come directly to the West Asheville Library Friends. Membership
Membership is for one-year from the date of enrollment. Members receive a copy of Happenings, the system newsletter, and early admission to the fall book sale at Pack Memorial. The newsletter presents the most up-to-date listing of Library and Friends activities. Membership Dues
