May we never become so comfortable in freedom that we forget it was paid for in sacrifice. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

While we celebrate,
may we also remember.

Not just the soldiers,
but the families who kept living after the knock on the door.
The ones who learned how to survive a loss
most of us cannot even imagine.

Freedom has never been free.
It was paid for by names carved into stone,
boots that never walked back through the front door, and hearts brave enough to lay everything down for people they would never meet.

And may we never forget them.

Today at approximately 12:13 PM, we responded to a reported structure fire in the Oakley area. Upon arrival, it was confirmed to be a working structure fire. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to all mutual aid departments that provided assistance, as well as the Buncombe County Fire Marshal’s office. We also extend our deepest gratitude to the residents in the surrounding area for their patience and understanding during the road closure. Additionally, we would like to thank Rey Castillo Photography for capturing candid images of the scene. Thankfully no one was at home at the time of the incident. No residents or first responders were injured. Two felines were rescued and CPR was immediately administered.
