Kindergarten had some very special visitors from the WNC Nature Center this week, and what an incredible experience it was for our youngest Rams! 🐾 From the moment the animals arrived, excitement filled the room as students had the opportunity to see them up close and learn all about their habitats, behaviors, and unique characteristics.

This hands-on, in-person learning experience sparked so much curiosity and wonder. Our students asked great questions, made meaningful connections, and truly brought their classroom learning to life in a way that only experiences like this can.

We are so thankful to the WNC Nature Center for taking the time to visit and share their knowledge with us. Opportunities like this create lasting memories and inspire a love of learning that goes far beyond the classroom. πŸ’š

Our Annual Book Character Parade is one of our favorite traditions at Estes, and it was the perfect way to celebrate literacy and wrap up an incredible Read Across Estes Week! πŸ“šπŸŽ‰

Our RAMS had so much fun dressing up as their favorite book characters and parading through the halls while classmates, teachers, and families cheered them on. The creativity was amazingβ€”from classic storybook characters to some new favoritesβ€”and the excitement and smiles could be seen all throughout the school.

This special event is such a wonderful reminder of the joy that books bring to our students and how stories help spark imagination, curiosity, and a lifelong love of reading.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this tradition so specialβ€”our staff who helped organize the parade, families who helped create costumes, and of course our students who brought their favorite characters to life. It was the perfect ending to a week dedicated to celebrating literacy at Estes! πŸ“–βœ¨

Team Up for Reading was a big hit during Read Across Estes Spirit Week! πŸπŸ“š

Our Rams showed their school spirit and love of reading by wearing their favorite sports teams, jerseys, and athletic gear. From football and baseball to soccer and basketball, the hallways were full of team pride!

Throughout the day, students teamed up with classmates to read together, share stories, and celebrate the power of literacy. Just like in sports, reading is even more fun when you work together, encourage one another, and cheer each other on.

It was another great day of building a strong reading community here at Estes, and our Rams truly showed that when we team up for reading, everyone wins! πŸ€πŸ“–πŸ

🌟 Join the Estes PTA Team! 🌟

We’re starting to build our 2026-2027 PTA leadership team, and we would love for YOU to be part of it! Our PTA helps make so many wonderful things happen at Estes - from community events and teacher appreciation to programs that support our students and classrooms.

The best part? You don’t have to do it alone. Many roles can be shared with a small team, and even a little time can make a big impact when we all pitch in.

We are currently looking for volunteers specifically for:

πŸ“£ Advocacy Chair

πŸ’° Reimbursement Coordinator

β˜• Hospitality Team

πŸŽƒ Fall Festival Coordinator

πŸ• Spirit Nights & Programming

🌿 Beautification Coordinator

πŸ“š Used Book Fair Coordinator

Whether you have a lot of time or just a little, there’s a place for you in PTA. When families work together, we create an incredible school experience for our kids and show our teachers how much we appreciate them.

πŸ’™ Interested or want to learn more?

Together, we make Estes an amazing place to learn, grow, and belong! πŸ’›

Our Read Across Estes celebration continued today with Rambunctious Reading! πŸ“šπŸ»

Our Rams brought their favorite stuffed animals to school to join them for a day full of reading fun. Classrooms were filled with cozy reading buddies as students shared stories, practiced their literacy skills, and enjoyed reading alongside their fluffy friends.

It was a wonderful way to celebrate a love of books and imagination, and our Rams did a fantastic job making their stuffed animals feel welcome at school for the day! πŸπŸ“–

Our 3rd grade Rams had a fantastic field trip to Sky Lanes Asheville as part of their science learning about forces and motion! 🎳

Students explored how pushes and pulls affect movement as they rolled bowling balls down the lanes. They observed how the amount of force, the speed of the ball, and the direction it traveled all impacted what happened to the pins. Some students experimented with rolling the ball faster or slower, while others noticed how changing their aim changed the outcome.

This hands-on experience helped bring their classroom science lessons to life as they saw real-world examples of motion, force, speed, and collisions. Plus, there were plenty of strikes, spares, cheers, and teamwork along the way!

Learning + fun = a great day for our Rams! πŸπŸ“š
