The Ruby Bridges mini-grant application is now open! These grants are awarded of either $500 or $1,000 and are available to support celebrations on or around Nov 18th. This annual celebration honors Ruby’s courage and highlights the importance of anti-racism, kindness, and community connection. Projects must promote constructive dialogue about activism, anti-racism, and anti-bullying, inspire young people to make positive changes in their community, and encourage students to walk, bike, or roll to school on the day of the event. We love helping out with this day, so don't hesitate to reach out! https://saferoutespartnership.org/2026-ruby-bridges-walk-school-day-application-now-open/

The French Broad River MPO is asking for feedback on transportation projects being considered through North Carolina's transportation prioritization process.

Projects include roadway improvements, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, transit investments, freight projects, and safety enhancements across our region.

The survey allows you to review proposed projects and tell us what you think. You can support projects, express concerns, or share a neutral opinion—and you only need to rate the projects that matter most to you.

Your feedback will help inform how the MPO allocates its limited local input points, which can influence how projects are scored and ranked for potential state and federal funding.

Take the survey before it closes on July 22nd:

Help shape the future of biking in Hendersonville! Thursday, June 25, drop in any time 4pm-7pm at Trailside Brewing (873 Lenox Park Drive).

The City of Hendersonville is launching Bike Hendo, a new bicycle plan that will identify ways to make our community safer, more connected, and more bike-friendly for people who bike or roll through Hendersonville. Share where you currently bike, where you want to bike, and what makes biking difficult. Your input will help guide future bike projects, programs, and priorities. Bonus: Ride your bike to the meeting and enter to win a raffle prize!

Would your school like to secure a spot in our programming for the next school year? Now is a good time to start that conversation. Ideas of programming are walk or bike to school days, Storybook trail installations, school-wide active living challenges, pop-up bike parks, safety education, curriculum enhancements, or even just to have our staff available for tabling.
