Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park was, i must say. surprisingly impressive. We went on a whim and I had not researched it at all. The canyon cuts very steeply deep. Most impressive to me was the beautiful colored veins in the canyon face. It was real treat to see this park!

Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve is one of my favorite places to photograph sunsets. Embrace the challenge to get to the top of the highest dune! On occasion the winds here can be memorable in their own right!

The most spectacular thing I’ve ever seen was witnessing the Northern Lights in Yellowknife, NWT. The colors, the dynamic movement made them look almost liquid. Breathtaking.

My brother, our friend Ross, and I cycled the Natchez Trace Parkway the full 450 miles over 8 days (unsupported) this year. The dogwoods were in full bloom the full route north. It was a really big accomplishment and challenge for us!

The sunsets looking out over the South Rim at Big Bend National Park never disappoint. The sunrise at Pinnacles is pretty spectacular too!

One of my favorite parks is Big Bend National Park. It took me a bit to understand why it is so special and now I’ve made at least 6 trips there to off-road, backpack, and hike. It is a unique and amazing park.

In 2021, I completed a backpacking trip around Mt. Rainer on the Wonderland Trail, just shy of 100 miles. While photographs cannot fully capture its beauty, here are a couple of images that remind me of the beauty and majesty of the mountain and the park.
