This Sunday, May 3rd, at 12pm, AVFD will be participating in Bells Across America to honor firefighters who died in the line of duty. We will also pay a special tribute to Chief Bruce Fletcher and a few past members we recently lost.
All are invited to join us for this special event.

As of 8am Tuesday, Zaicek Road is still closed. Please seek alternate routes.

Driving around barricades creates a safety hazard for yourself and those working to fix the problem.

******** SAFETY ALERT**********

Zaicek Road is closed between Amidon Rd and Rt 74.

Zaicek Rd is also not accessible from Perry Hill Rd.

Honoring America’s Fallen Firefighters — and One of Our Own

From April 26th through May 3rd, both Station 20 (Rt. 89) and Station 2 (Lake Chaffee) will shine red as we join the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation’s “Light the Night” tribute.

This nationwide effort invites communities across the country to light up red in remembrance of the firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice.
We also light the night in honor of Chief Bruce Fletcher. His impact on our community lives on in every call answered, every firefighter trained, and every life protected.

We invite our residents, families, and local businesses to join us in this tribute. Light your porch, storefront, sign, or property in red and help us show that Ashford stands united in remembrance.

If you participate, share a photo in comments and your “why.”
Let’s fill our town — and our feeds — with red in honor of all who gave everything.
