Another frosty night is forecast tonight, with a frost advisory in effect between 12 AM and 8 AM for most of southern Wisconsin. Showers & thunderstorms return late Monday night through Tuesday ahead of a cold front. Widespread severe weather is not anticipated at this time.

We are doing an Ashippun Fire Department Calendar again this year that will be mailing to over 1,100 households! We are reaching out in regards to purchasing ad space on our calendar. Ad space is open for both businesses and families that would like to show their support the Ashippun Fire Department. We will need to submit artwork by 5/15 so if interested please purchase a spot prior to that date.

Another round of strong to severe thunderstorms is possible this afternoon and evening, but the severe potential will depend on where the front sets up. IF the front stalls more along the WI/IL border with cooler temps and cloudy skies, THEN expected more of a heavy rain risk and a flooding threat with potential for some small hail. IF the front lifts north toward the I-94 bringing more sunshine THEN warmer temps and a moist atmosphere will create an environment capable of producing large hail to an inch or more, localized damaging wind gusts, and isolated tornado or two, in addition to flooding.

An intensifying line of severe storms will continue to race across southern WI through 3 AM. Damaging winds will be the main threat, but cannot rule out isolated tornadoes and localized flooding.
