Su***de prevention isn’t just about recognizing the warning signs—it’s about reaching out, listening, showing compassion, and letting someone know they don’t have to face their struggles by themselves. Sometimes, a simple conversation can make all the difference.

A big thank you to everyone who helped make today possible and to all the families who braved the heat and joined us! A special shoutout to the Cheatham County Explorer Program for helping our SROs at our tent throughout the event.

It was great seeing everyone today. Here’s to a great school year!

📚🚌 BACK TO SCHOOL MEANS SAFETY FIRST! 🚌📚
As students head back to the classroom, we're asking every driver to help keep Tennessee's roads safe.

🚸 Remember:
🛑 Stop and yield to pedestrians at crosswalks and intersections.
🛑 Never pass a stopped school bus with flashing red lights and an extended stop arm.
🛑 Obey crossing guards.
🛑 Stay alert, children can be unpredictable near schools, neighborhoods, and bus stops.
🛑 Never pass a vehicle stopped for pedestrians.

A few extra seconds of patience can save a life. Slow down, stay focused, and help us ensure every student arrives safely to and from school.

Congratulations to Deputy Burkhart on successfully completing the D.A.R.E. Program and becoming a certified D.A.R.E. Instructor.

The D.A.R.E. Program provides students with the knowledge and decision-making skills needed to make safe and responsible choices throughout their lives. Through classroom instruction and positive interaction with law-enforcement, students learn about the dangers of drugs and alcohol, strategies to resist peer pressure, bullying prevention, and the importance of making healthy decisions.

Programs like D.A.R.E. strengthen the relationships between law-enforcement, our schools, and the community by building trust and creating positive connections with students at an early age. We are excited to see Deputy Burkhart bring this valuable program to our schools and make a lasting impact on the lives of our students.

Congratulations Burkhart and thank you for your commitment to serving and investing in the future of our community.
