Church bulletins offer a glimpse into every community. They can show the names of the people who attended the churches at the time and were often community leaders. These two bulletins were loaned to the library by Sarah Pitt. They are from the 1960s from the Ashland City & Pleasant View Methodist Churches.

We would like to thank Jamie Hallums Merritts for the donation of the constitution of the 1860-1861 Ashland City Debate Club. The book belonged to Jamie's father, Mr. James B. "Bud" Hallums. Mr. Hallums served as the Cheatham County Historian for many years. His knowledge and dedication to the county's history will never be matched. His passing left a void which has never been filled. If you would like to view this document, please visit the library/archives during our business hours.
