Just after 2:30pm today, the CFD was requested to respond to 1072 Flying J Way for two individuals stranded in a boom truck approximately 85 feet in the air. The individuals were working on a billboard sign when the PTO on their truck malfunctioned, preventing them from lowering back down to the ground.

Due to the nature of the incident, Ashland Fire Department Tower 1 was requested to the scene with their 100 foot Tower Ladder.

Crews were able to assist both the individuals down with no injuries reported.

Big thanks to Captain Bays for his hard work securing a Permco Community Grant!!!

This Grant allowed us to receive fire extinguishers that will better prepare us to combat lithium ion battery fires!

We are proud to announce that the Cannonsburg Fire Department is a recipient of a Permco Community Grant that secured the EFIREX lithium battery system for the department.
This new innovative patented product enhances first responder safety and the safety of the general public.
First Responders put it on the line everyday, it is our pleasure to help in anyway !

Live Fire Training in an acquired structure on Marsh Hill Drive is scheduled for Saturday March 14th. Marsh Hill Drive will be closed to through traffic in the area of 3611 Marsh Hill Drive for safety purposes. Please use alternate routes.

Media Release:

This morning at 5:32am, Fire companies from the Cannonsburg, Summit-Ironville, Westwood, England Hill, Norton Branch, and Catlettsburg were dispatched to the 1800 Block of Old US Route 60 for a commercial building fire.

Upon arrival heavy smoke was observed coming from the building. Crews made an interior attack on the fire and found a dryer unit on fire on the first floor, with extension into the ventilation system on the second floor.

All companies operated just over 2 hours extinguishing fire, ventilating the building, and conducting overhaul.

Big thanks to East Fork and Grayson for moving in to Cannonsburg to provide coverage, and Russell for moving up to Summit-Ironville, while units were still on scene.

2025 was a busy year for the members of the Cannonsburg Fire Department!

The CFD finished up the year with 595 calls for service ranking it the second busiest year since the department organized in 1971!
