We strive to strengthen our local county economy in three primary areas: Business Retention and Expansion; Business Recruitment; and Contributions to Quality Planning and Quality of Life. In addition to our day-to-day activities, including work

ing with our economic base and networking with prospective investors, AAED develops specific annual goals and objectives under this general framework. These goals and objectives represent some pressing needs and opportunities that we are responsible for addressing. Originally, Ashland Economic Development was a department within the City of Ashland then Ashland Area Council for Economic Development a regional council of government 2005-2016. We have transitioned into a new organization: the Ashland Area Economic Development Inc.,. This new organization was formed in August of 2016 and became the official EDO for the Ashland area starting January 1, 2017.
