Did you know that your gifts help support so many services here at OHRA? Showers, laundry, a safe and warm place to live, navigation support to help people find their footing, and a winter shelter that provides safety when harsh weather hits. Your generosity makes all these things possible. And the result? Safer, more secure, people who live in our community. This belonging and connection is so valuable, and we are so grateful to you for being part of it! You, and your support, are true gifts.

Spring is in full bloom, and so is the beauty of our campus!

We are deeply grateful to Barry and Kathryn Thalden for their generous gift, which helped bring this beautiful landscaping project to life. Their commitment to creating a welcoming environment for our guests, staff, and community is truly appreciated.

We also want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Eileen Piker and Diane de Ryss for the many volunteer hours, advocacy, and support they contributed to help make this project possible. Their dedication and care continue to make a lasting impact at OHRA.

A special thank you as well to the volunteers who regularly help with weeding, watering, and maintaining our new landscaping. Your ongoing efforts ensure that this beautiful space continues to thrive and provide a welcoming environment for everyone who visits our campus.

This project is a wonderful example of what can happen when generous donors and committed volunteers come together to strengthen our community.

Thank you, Barry, Kathryn, Eileen, Diane, and all of our dedicated volunteers for your compassion, generosity, and continued support of our mission.

OHRA is in the news! Our community lecture with Gregg Colburn is in .news !!

"A University of Washington professor and housing expert, Gregg Colburn, will offer two public talks on affordability and homelessness from 11 a.m. to noon and 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13, at Southern Oregon University.

Colburn is the co-author of the 2022 book, “Homelessness is a Housing Problem: How Structural Factors Explain U.S. Patterns,” and the recently released “Affordable Housing in the United States.” His nationally recognized research reframes homelessness as a housing market and systems issue, highlighting the importance of focusing on housing supply and affordability, he told Ashland.news.

Ashland-based nonprofit Opportunities for Housing Resources & Assistance (OHRA) and the Rogue Valley Metaphysical Library will host the talk to inform the community about why housing challenges are so widespread, which responses are most effective, and why the Southern Oregon environment exacerbates homelessness, according to OHRA Executive Director Dan Cano."
