Beautiful picture of Mt. Shasta Covered in lenticular clouds.

Weather is a major driver of fire behavior and cloud formations can teach you a lot about the atmospheric conditions and the potential effects on wildland fire. Weather is a major topic covered in all levels of our Wildland Fire Training series

It was a gorgeous sunset tonight on Mt. Shasta with a nice stack of lenticular clouds. Winds were very strong on the mountain today helping to create these cool clouds. More strong winds are expected up there in the coming days.

Packtest/Refreshers February 11th in Ashland and Springfield 8:45am at the Ashland Middle School Track

Intro March 25-29th in Ashland, Springfield and La Pine

Pacific Oasis is looking for good natured, hard working, physically fit individuals to fill out our wildland fire crews for the upcoming 2021 fire season. Experienced fire fighters are welcome but no experience is required. Our upcoming Refresher course for returning fire fighters is on May 15th and our Intro fire fighting course for new fire fighters will be May 15th-19th.
