Clay County Children's Policy Council

Clay County Children's Policy Council Our Vision

To assess the needs of children in our county and to build cooperation between various entities and interest groups.

To mobilize providers of services for children and involve them collaboratively to develop a community service plan which addresses the needs of children (ages 0 to 19). To provide our children with the skills and resources they need to become productive, well-rounded and informed decision makers. Our children are our future; let us invest wisely in their foundation. The Clay County Children’s Pol

icy Council was initially founded in March of 1999 and disbanded shortly thereafter. It has been re-instated as of August 2006 with 30 volunteer members. We are fortunate to have very motivated and hard working members and to date have been able to bring several new programs into our county. We look forward to this challenge and hope that with community support we will have the ability to make a significant impact on the services and programs that affect the lives of our children.

“Real heroes don’t wear capes. They simply care.”

Fred Rogers once said something the world still needs to hear:
“We live in a world in which we need to share responsibility. It's easy to say, ‘It's not my child, not my community, not my world, not my problem.’
Then there are those who see the need and respond. I consider those people my heroes.”
He wasn’t talking about superheroes.
He was talking about ordinary people — the ones who show up, who listen, who help without asking for recognition.
The neighbor who checks in.
The teacher who stays late.
The stranger who steps forward when everyone else steps back.
In a world that often feels divided, kindness is rebellion.
And the ones who still choose to care — they’re the quiet heroes keeping everything together.
