Big congratulations to Adriana Sánchez who is graduating from Century High School. Adriana is a member of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde and descendant of the Confederated Tribes of the Siletz Indians along with Mexican roots from the Caxcanes & Chichimecas of Mexico.

She plans to attend Portland Community College and then transfer to University of Oregon to study International Business and finance.

Congratulation to Konaway alum Alexa Martinez, (Klamath Tribes, Yahooskin, Northern Paiute)who is graduating from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Science in Human Physiology and a minor in Chemistry.

"Go Ducks! As a pre-medical student, mynext step is applying to medical school to pursue a career as a physician. My career goal will involve helping the BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Color) communities, whether that means to provide care or advocate."

Fun fact, Alexa is a second generation Konaway kid and we know her mother Christina Martinez is so proud of her as are we! Alexa will also be joining us this summer as a Senior Counselor for Konaway.

We are so excited to welcome new and returning students July 11-18, 2026.

Applications are OPEN for Konaway Nika Tillicum until May 29! This weeklong overnight camp at Southern Oregon University offers Native American & Indigenous youth (grades 7–12) a unique chance to explore their future while building lifelong friendships.

Did you hear the good news? We are excited to offer the pre-Konaway Theatre Arts camp in partnership with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.Participants will explore many aspects of theatre with multiple workshops led by OSF creatives and work directly with four Indigenous Guest Artists, Roman Zaragoza, Aubee Billie, Taya Dixon and Amber Ball.

This program is an extention of the main Konaway program for students grades 7-12. Student will need a completed Konaway application to be considered for one of the twelve theatre program spots. Apply today!
