Shift 1 had a fast start to the day after being dispatched to a trailer fire. The fire was extinguished quickly with no incident. Good reminder to only throw appropriate items into the garbage/recycling.

We had a great turnout for our EMS Week Open House and enjoyed spending time with our community. Thank you to everyone who stopped out and helped make it a success!

Congratulations to Andy on being selected as EMS Provider of the Year, and congratulations to Jake on his pinning ceremony as he completed his first year probationary period.

A special thank you to Tamarack Health and Northwood Technical College for joining us with staff and demonstrations that helped make the event even more engaging and educational.

We would like to introduce our newest firefighter: Finley O’Dell.

He comes from Eau Claire Wisconsin where he obtained his EMT and Firefighting certifications from Chippewa Valley Technical College.

Finley wanted to become a firefighter because he enjoys helping people. In his spare time he enjoys skiing, hiking, camping and fishing.

Congratulations to Firefighter/EMT Jake Kruzan for completing his probationary period today! Jake is already in paramedic class and crushing it on Shift 3. A formal pinning ceremony will be held soon.

This morning we had the privilege of hosting our retired firefighters at the station for breakfast. It was a great opportunity to share a meal, catch up and recognize the years of service and dedication they gave to our community.

We appreciate everything they have done and their continued connection to the department. Always good to have them back at the station.

Rescue Divas are looking for young ladies for their summer camp. If you know someone who wants to explore emergency services careers in a fun, hands-on setting, we highle recommend this awesome group.

Rescue Divas is a five day residential camp experience, focusing on educating and exciting middle school age girls about careers (or volunteer positions) in Emergency Medicine. Throughout the week, girls will participate in exploratory, hands-on

Ashland Fire and Ashland County Emergency management had a great time at the Family and Youth Services open house. We were able to talk about fire safety and what to do in case of fire. Emergency management even provided a little live fire demonstration for the kids.
