Ashland County Solid Waste Management District Ashland County Solid Waste Management and Recycling This current Plan Update covers a fifteen year planning period beginning in 2025 and ending in 2039.

The Ashland County Solid Waste Management District (District) was established in 1990 in response to a new Ohio law developed under House Bill 592. The new law required every County in Ohio to be in a solid waste district and to develop a plan to meet a recycling goal of 25% and/or 80% recycling infrastructure for their district. The District is required by Section 3734.54 of the Ohio Revised Code

(ORC) to periodically update its solid waste management plan (Plan Update). The current Plan Update includes a description of District programs and projections for solid waste generation, recycling and disposal for fifteen years. The current Plan Update identifies the District’s strategies for managing the District’s facilities and programs and provides an assessment on achieving statewide recycling and waste reduction goals.

We are excited and proud to announce our new signs for our recycling drop-off containers have been designed and will be installed over the next month or so.

The change to the program includes all acceptable recyclable materials can now go into any of our recycling containers at each site.

The old recycling container signs required you to separate plastic/glass/metal from cardboard/paper and place these materials into the appropriate container.

Be on the look out when you visiting and of our 15 recycle sites located throughout the county for the new signs and remember to RECYCLE RIGHT!!
