Overnight investigations are from 7pm-10am and cost is $550 for a maximum of 12 people. If you have over 12 people there is an additional charge of $50 for each person. This also includes the use of 1 of the 3 bunk houses for every 4 persons in your group 1-4 you get 1, 2-8 you get 2, 9-12 all 3. If you want to split into smaller groups you can for $50 per additional bunk house. Daytime investigat

ions are available at a cost of $325 for from 11am-6pm and up to 12 people. Each additional person over 12 is $30.

2 hour history tours are available as public or private. The cost for these are $15 a person with a seven person minimum charge. Open overnight events will be scheduled throughout the year at a cost of $50 per person. The overnights are from 6pm-2am in length but you may leave earlier if you choose. You can stay until 10am by renting a bunk house. The cost is $50 or $75 and up to 4 people can stay for this flat charge. The building is available to rent for other private events as well.

BUT WAIT THERE IS MORE

So just when we thought we were done with the ground work we had to think again. Norma went on the roof to check a former project and we found that a small section of the roof had completely been removed. It must have been a small twister that "sucked" it off because it took the roof complete off and lifted it off and set it on the building roof in one piece. Lost some bricks and a heavy piece of limestone was also removed. I sold my bucket truck a few years back and to repair this I need a lift that will go about 35' in the air. I was going to try it with a smaller one and use a ladder if needed but Norma and Ashley did not think that was a good idea so I rented a taller one. Now I get to go from working 4' below ground to about 35' above ground. Cost on this project to probably higher it done would be about $7,500-10,000 I am thinking. I'll be getting high on Wednesday though and not in a way many like. So there goes another 13-18 investigations. Still think it's a cash cow owning a location? ~ Robbin

I see a lot of people talking about how much locations charge to investigate and the price at Ashmore Estates has changed $100 in the past 12+ years. That is about 8% a year and not even close to what the monthly expenses have increased over that time frame. When you look at expenses and repairs like we did over the weekend it is expensive to operate a location. We had two prior HVAC openings that started leaking in and caused a "mini" mudslide in the team room. We dug them both out and filled them in with block, foundation sealant, treated plywood and more foundation sealant. Backfilled everything after that and will finish the grad after settling. We also put the gutter drain underground.

This is the type of thing you never see. Fortunately I can do the work myself and have the equipment to do so. I would bet this would cost close to $5,000 to have the work done by someone. That's almost 9 investigations that need to be booked to break even on this project. ~ Robbin

This is an event that has not been done at Ashmore Estates. We are setting up a special Flea Market and it is going to be fun. What's cooler than going into an old haunted building at night? Shopping in an old haunted building without the lights on is what is cooler. Friday night and Saturday during the day. Bring your flashlight for Friday night.
