Notice to Residents Regarding Proper Garbage Disposal

The Village respectfully reminds all residents that placing garbage, refuse, or any waste materials on property that is not your own is strictly prohibited.

Disposing of garbage in another’s yard, lot, or property without permission is considered illegal dumping and is subject to enforcement action, including possible fines.

Residents are asked to properly dispose of all waste using their designated containers and approved collection services. Maintaining clean and respectful neighborhoods is a shared responsibility, and your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

If you have any questions regarding proper disposal or collection services, please contact the Village Office.

Thank you for your attention to this matter and for helping keep our community clean.

The Village of Ashton has approved a Solicitors Permit beginning on Monday March 09 through March 20, 2026 Monday through Friday to K Nelson (pictured) from IGS Energy. She will have an Ashton Peddler and Solicitor’s Permit Badge to present during her canvas of the town. If you do not wish to speak with her, please post a “no-solicitation” sign on your front door or window.

Weekly Yard Waste Removal by the Village Street Department resumes – Monday, March 02, 2026.

Pick up days will be on Monday and Friday.

Reminder, Yard Waste should be set out for pickup in bundles or bags weighing less than 50lbs (Ord. 110810B).

Peddler & Solicitor Permit Approved

The Village of Ashton has approved a Solicitors Permit beginning on Wednesday March 4 through March 31, 2026 Monday through Friday to J Morales (pictured) from Morales A&J Services LLC. He will have an Ashton Peddler and Solicitor’s Permit Badge to present during his canvas of the town. He will be seeking roof replacements or repairs, free inspections. If you do not wish to speak with him, please post a “no-solicitation” sign on your front door or window.

Hydrant Flushing Scheduled 3/12-3/13

The Ashton Water Department will be flushing all Village fire hydrants overnight beginning at 10:00pm on Thursday, March 12th through approximately 6:00am on Friday, March 13th.

The department flushes hydrants overnight to limit the amount of rust being pulled into residents’ water services, however, you may still see some rust come out of your faucets after the flush is completed. Thank you for your patience as we complete this scheduled bi-annual maintenance.
