This free training is designed for contractors, builders, waste haulers, and construction professionals looking to better understand and comply with local material diversion requirements. Heads up! Pitkin County has begun work on the Slaughterhouse Bridge and Cemetery Lane, taking advantage of favorable weather to get ahead of the summer season and reduce overall impacts.

Project Timeline: April 6 – June 12
Traffic Impacts: Single-lane closures with traffic control
Full Closures: Up to 10 days between April 10–23, 9 AM–7 PM

We’ve coordinated with the Aspen School District to minimize impacts—morning bus routes will not be affected, and afternoon adjustments are in place. Travelers are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra time, and stay alert for changing conditions. Thank you for your patience as we complete this important work to keep our infrastructure safe and reliable.

¡Atención! El Condado de Pitkin ha comenzado trabajos en el Puente Slaughterhouse y en Cemetery Lane, aprovechando el clima favorable para adelantar trabajo antes de la temporada de verano y reducir los impactos generales.

Kara Silbernagel was appointed Pitkin County Manager at today's BOCC Special Meeting.

"The accomplishments celebrated today belong to the incredible Pitkin County staff. From the big wins to the daily tasks, they make this community what it is. Kara, who has been serving as Interim County Manager, brings more than a decade of experience with Pitkin County and a strong foundation in public service leadership. She joined the County in 2014 as a University of Colorado Best and Brightest Fellow and policy analyst in the County Manager’s Office and has since held key supervisory roles, most recently serving as Deputy County Manager.
