When funding disappears, the need doesn’t disappear with it.
Earlier this year, a survivors-services organization in Lamar, Colorado, closed after 40 years of service, leaving survivors across four rural counties wihtout a local domestic and sexual violence agency.
The closure comes amid years of declining federal Victims of Crime Act funding, including a 46% reduction since 2024 that has affected Response and agencies like us across Colorado.
At a time when Response is seeing unprecedented demand for our services, we are deeply grateful to live in a community that believes survivors should always have somewhere to turn.
Thank you for helping keep Response strong and ensuring safety and support remain available here in the RFV.
