Throwback to one of our favorite moments of community creativity 🎨

The Love Aspinwall mural project brought neighbors of all ages together to create something truly special, across planning to painting, one brushstroke at a time. From longtime residents to first-time participants, this project was a beautiful reminder of what makes our community so vibrant: connection, collaboration, and a whole lot of heart.

We still smile every time we pass by it 💚

Were you part of the painting crew? Drop your photos or memories below. We’d love to relive it together!

It's Won’t You Be My Neighbor Day 💚

Today we celebrate the spirit of kindness, connection, and community inspired by Fred Rogers. In Aspinwall, we see it every day:

A wave across the street.
A helping hand with groceries.
A quick chat that turns into a friendship.

Today, let’s be intentional about it. Here are a few simple ways to spread some neighborly love:

✨ Check in on a neighbor you haven’t seen in a while
✨ Leave a kind note or small treat for someone nearby
✨ Pick up a little extra litter on your walk
✨ Introduce yourself to someone new
✨ Support a local business
✨ Volunteer with us!

We have a number of upcoming volunteer opportunities, with our Soup Delivery and Green Streets programs, to consider signing up for: https://aspinwallneighbors.org/volunteer/

Strong communities grow through everyday moments of kindness, connection, and showing up for one another. So today (and every day), won’t you be our neighbor? 🏡💚

We are pleased to announce that resident Pam Dickinson has been awarded a Community Grant to create a butterfly and pollinator garden along Commercial Avenue 🦋

The project, developed in partnership with the Borough of Aspinwall will transform currently unused planting beds into a habitat of native plants designed to support bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, while providing an educational and welcoming space for the community.

Volunteers will assist with preparing the space during our upcoming Green Streets event on April 26, helping bring this vision to life over the coming seasons.

👏 Congratulations to Pam on this inspiring project that strengthens our community and celebrates sustainability.

Our March soup delivery was a success yesterday, rain and all! ☔

This month’s Chicken Orzo from Cornerstone Restaurant & Bar made its way around the neighborhood to seniors and residents recovering from surgery or loss, thanks to an amazing crew of volunteers.

Huge thanks to Jen (pictured with the soup), Caitlin and her daughter Aubrey (also pictured), Tripp, Kevin, Jessica, Lori, Mary Catherine, and Andrew. We had an incredible volunteer turnout this month and are so grateful for everyone who helped deliver a little warmth around the neighborhood.

And of course, thank you to our wonderful bakers Deb and Gretchen for the festive shamrock cookies 🍀 the perfect sweet treat to accompany this month's soup!

We’re so lucky to have such a caring community 💚 We have one delivery left this season coming up in April. If you’d like to volunteer or learn more about getting involved, check out: https://aspinwallneighbors.org/soup/

It’s a great afternoon of fresh air, teamwork, and community pride, and we’d love to see you there! We’ll share the volunteer sign-up form soon, but for now save the date.

❤️ February’s soup delivery was filled with kindness from so many wonderful neighbors!

Thank you to Tripp, Lori, Mary Catherine, and Andrew for volunteering their time to help deliver soup this month. We’re also grateful to Gretchen and Deb for the homemade cookies that added a sweet touch to each delivery 🍪

Our recipients were showered with creativity and care, thanks to handmade Valentines from Caitlin and her girls, Aubrey and Everly, and from our local Girl Scout troop #27307! Your notes truly brightened the season.

Thank you to everyone who continues to show up for neighbors near and far. This is what community looks like 💚

💌 A huge thank-you to Girl Scout Troop #27307!

These amazing 4th graders from O’Hara Elementary spent time making Valentine’s for every one of our February Soup Delivery recipients.

Their handmade cards will be included with each delivery next week, spreading kindness, care, and a little extra joy to neighbors this month. We’re so grateful for their thoughtfulness and generosity 💚
