Join us this week in standing together to end gun violence and to honor all victims whose lives have been impacted by this tragic reality in our communities.
CeaseFirePA’s End Gun Violence Advocacy Day in Harrisburg on June 2 brings together advocates from across Pennsylvania to meet with legislators and encourage commonsense gun safety laws that protect our communities, families, and children. Advocacy efforts focus on prevention, education, community investment, and policies that reduce gun violence throughout our state. https://www.ceasefirepa.org/
Please consider attending these important upcoming events:
• June 2 – CeaseFirePA Day of Advocacy, Harrisburg
• June 5 – Toll the Bell: Cry for Peace, OLA Campus, 12:15 PM
• June 6 – Chester Peace Walk & Block Party
• June 7 – CeaseFirePA Wear Orange Block Party & Rally, Bryn Mawr
On Friday, June 5, all are invited to wear orange and participate in Toll the Bell: Cry for Peace. Participants will gather at the main entrance of OLA at 12:15 PM for a brief prayer, followed by a demonstration of solidarity and the ringing of the chapel bells. Presented by Penn Live Arts, Toll the Bell is a city-wide sound installation honoring victims of gun violence and raising awareness for those working toward peace in our communities. The simultaneous ringing of bells across Philadelphia serves as both a warning and a call to pause, reflect, and recommit ourselves to ending violence.
We especially invite you to come support our committee chair, Marge LaRue, who will be speaking at the Wear Orange Rally in Bryn Mawr on June 7.
Together, may we continue to advocate, and work for peace.
