This week, our department had the pleasure of meeting with the Troop K Cadet Camp to showcase our Water Rescue Team. Our members reviewed specialized equipment, discussed water rescue operations, and provided a live demonstration of the capabilities and training required for these challenging incidents.

Our team is proud to be part of the West Team of the Delaware County Swift Water Task Force, working alongside other regional agencies to provide specialized water rescue capabilities throughout Delaware County.

Our Water Rescue Team consists of:
• 10 Awareness Members
• 15 Operations Members
• 20 Water Rescue Technicians
• 11 Ice Rescue Technicians
• 14 Boat Operators

The team operates two 14-foot Zodiac-style rescue boats powered by 35 HP motors for deep and swift-water rescues, along with one Banana Boat designed for ice rescue and shallow, fast-moving water operations.

Interested in becoming part of our Water Rescue Team? Stop by the station or reach out to learn how you can get involved. We are always looking for dedicated individuals to serve our community.

Thank you to the Aston Township Police Department for inviting us to be part of this year’s National Night Out. It was a wonderful evening, and we truly enjoyed meeting so many residents and having the opportunity to talk about the services we provide to our community.

We were especially grateful for the number of people who asked how they could support our EMS Fund Drive. For those who inquired, we’ve included our donation letter with this post for your convenience.

During the month of July, our EMS Division responded to 315 calls for service, bringing our year-to-date total to 2,057 calls.

As we’ve shared before, providing dependable, high-quality emergency medical care is made possible because of the continued support of our community. Your donations help us maintain equipment, purchase lifesaving supplies, and continue answering the call whenever help is needed.

Thank you to everyone who supports the Aston Township Fire & EMS Department. We are proud to serve this community and appreciate the trust you place in us every day.

The Aston Township Fire Department has proudly served our community for more than 84 years, todays department stands on the legacy of the Aston Beechwood and Green Ridge Fire Companies. We wouldn't be able to do so without the ongoing support of our residents. To maintain our Fire and EMS services, our department depends on grants, contributions, fundraisers, township donation and ambulance billing on a daily basis. Community support is even more important than ever because emergency services are becoming more and more expensive every year.

"Where does my donation go?" is a common question. It directly supports the services that protect our community, so the answer is straightforward. Donations support the purchase of fuel for our emergency vehicles, maintenance and repairs, the replacement of life-saving equipment, the provision of medical supplies, and the guarantee that each firefighter and EMT has the protective gear necessary to respond to emergencies in a safe manner. The Aston Township Fire Department's tactical officers, board of directors, and administration are all volunteers, something that many people might not be aware of. The enormous expense that would otherwise be faced by taxpayers if these positions were fully paid is largely offset by their many hours of service.

Emergency services are becoming more and more needed. Our Fire and EMS call volume has increased in the last five years. We have been able to employ paid EMS personnel to staff our main ambulance around-the-clock, seven days a week, thanks to careful financial preparation and the commitment of our Board of Directors. We also hired part-timers to help staff a second ambulance when call levels increased, assuring that we could continue to deliver prompt emergency care when our community needs it.

Every emergency response is made possible because of the support of our community. Whether you donate, attend a fundraiser, volunteer your time, or simply share our mission with others, you are helping us continue to provide the high-quality emergency services that Aston Township has depended on for generations.

Year to date, our crews have been dispatched to:

2,003 Emergency Medical calls

542 Fire Department incidents
