Summer Reading is upon us! Start the season off right at our Summer Reading Kick-Off Party next Saturday, June 6, 1-3pm. Get registered, grab some logs, and participate in fun activities. You can even plant a buddy to take home who will grow with you through the summer!

Former Mayor and Children's Librarian Arline LaMear will read her latest book, based off the mural in the children's area by local artist Laura Janes. We will have books for (almost) each animal featured in the mural for checkout. Copies of the book will be available for purchase.

Help create a ceramic mosaic panel of "The Legend of Yggdrasil," the world tree from Norse mythology. The completed work of art will be donated to the community of Astoria. In addition to working on the mosaic, families may select a ceramic tile of a Norse gnome or Saami child to decorate and keep.

Event is presented by Oregon Coast Children's Center for the Arts and funded in part by the Barbro Osher Pro Suecia Foundation of San Francisco.
