This Thursday, September 3, is our first Early Release Thursday. Schools will let out 1 hour earlier.

Early release time each Thursday is an opportunity for staff to collaborate with colleagues and participate in professional development. Teams meet to coordinate with specialists, differentiate lessons for students, review upcoming lessons and units, and participate in professional learning opportunities. Having dedicated time each week for collaboration is essential to meet the needs of all students and grow as professionals. Students benefit from this teamwork as teachers provide effective and differentiated instruction that reflects current best practices.

No School on Friday September 4 and Monday September 7.

Please allow a 20-minute difference during the first 2 weeks of school as the routes are finalized. We appreciate your patience with our drivers as they deliver your students safely to and from school.

As a reminder, if there are buses around the neighborhood, there are also students. Please watch your speed, and if the lights are flashing or the sign is out on the bus, don't pass!

A brand-new tradition kicks off at Astoria High School this year! The Class of 2027 transformed the senior parking lot into a canvas of school spirit. From bold artwork to personal logos, every reserved spot now tells a story about the senior who claimed it.

Want to keep your spot all year? Seniors need to maintain a 90% or higher attendance rate to hold onto their painted parking space.

Way to go, Fisherman seniors! We can't wait to see this tradition grow year after year.

Staff were thrilled to welcome Dr. Sharroky Hollie back to the Astoria School District on August 25, 2026! Dr. Hollie led all district staff through an engaging professional development session focused on culturally responsive teaching and learning.
This marks the second training session Dr. Hollie has facilitated for our team. Our educators gained actionable strategies and practical classroom examples designed to foster inclusive, supportive, and effective learning environments for every student.
We look forward to continuing our partnership with Dr. Hollie throughout the 2026–2027 school year!

A huge thank you to Mo's Seafood and Chowder for their incredible generosity in hosting our annual Astoria School District Welcome Back Staff Luncheon. Year after year, Mo's donates their time, staff service, meals, and supplies to make our team feel valued and celebrated as we kick off a new school year.

We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to Van Dusen Beverages for donating the water for this year's event.

Our community support makes all the difference, and we are deeply grateful for these local partnerships. Thank you for taking such good care of our staff!

Returning ASD families:
Delete the old app.
Search the Apple App Store or Google Play for “ParentVUE (New)” or “StudentVUE (New).”
Open the app and select Astoria School District.
Choose “Already Activated,” then log in with your existing username and password. You do not need to create a new account.

You can also find app links at www.astoria.k12.or.us under Parents > ParentVUE Student Information.

ParentVUE and StudentVUE provide access to grades, attendance, and assignments. If you need help downloading the app or signing in, please contact your school.
