Atchison County is transitioning from Crisis24 CodeRed to Everbridge for community notifications. Everbridge replaces the previous CodeRed system and offers more flexibility in how and when notifications are received. Previous CodeRED registrations will not transfer to the new system. All residents, businesses, and visitors are encouraged to create a new account and set their notification preferences.
Everbridge Community Alert Program
Citizens of Atchison County can receive emergency alerts, notifications, and weather warnings through the Everbridge Alert Program. Notifications can be delivered by phone calls, text messages, email, and mobile app notifications, helping residents stay informed before, during, and after emergencies.
Residents and businesses are encouraged to register through the Everbridge Community Enrollment Portal. The secure registration page allows users to add multiple phone numbers, email addresses, and physical locations such as homes, businesses, schools, or other addresses important to them. Residents may also customize notification preferences and set quiet hours for weather notifications.

• Emergency Alerts
• Community Notifications
• Road Closures
• Public Safety Information
• National Weather Service Warnings, including:
• Tornado Warnings
• Severe Thunderstorm Warnings
• Flash Flood Warnings
• Additional weather alerts
Optional Community Interest Groups
Subscribers may also choose to receive information from specific agencies, communities, and organizations within Atchison County. Participation in these groups is voluntary and can be added or removed at any time.

• Atchison County Burn Ban Alerts (Required if you wish to receive Burn Ban Information)
• City of Atchison General Information
• City of Atchison Events
Registration is free, and residents are encouraged to sign up for multiple methods of notification to ensure they receive important emergency information. Having multiple ways to receive warnings and alerts can help ensure you receive critical information when it matters most.
-Important Notes-
Atchison County will begin sending notifications through Everbridge on July 1st, 2026.
To ensure a smooth transition, Atchison County will operate both the Crisis24 CodeRED and Everbridge notification systems beginning July 1st, 2026. Both systems will remain active during the transition period. Crisis24 CodeRED will be discontinued on August 1st, 2026.
During the transition period, individuals who are registered in both systems may receive duplicate notifications and weather alerts until August 1st, 2026, unless they choose to deactivate their CodeRED account.
If you do not register for Everbridge, you will no longer receive emergency alerts, weather warnings, and community notifications from Atchison County after August 1st, 2026.
Residents and businesses are strongly encouraged to register for Everbridge as soon as possible.
Burn Ban Alerts are now optional! You also have the option of setting quiet hours for weather alerts!
