For over 100 years and in two different buildings, the Atchison Public Library has provided access to the historical town of Atchison, KS. We support the community, providing free access to Wifi, meeting spaces, digital content, programming for all ages, and of course, a diverse collection of books, movies, aud

That's it for week 2 of Summer Reading 2026! This week was a big one, and we wanted to thank everyone who made this week possible. Long post ahead!

First and foremost, thank you so much to our patrons for showing up for us. This past Wednesday broke our attendance record for an event at DIY Dino Egg craft, which is amazing! Speaking of, thank you to the Sunflower for donating coffee grounds for this specific event! Thank you to Atchison Jazz Express for kicking off Summer Sounds in our courtyard, to the Atchison Farmers Market, to Karla Bauer for a fun Storytime, and to Dr. Natalia Lopez from KU Natural History Museum!

And of course, thank you to everyone who made week 1 just as fun including those at Stomp Chomp Roar & Science Heroes!

We're not even halfway done, and there's still so much more fun to have! Remember to keep checking back for new events almost every day. See you for week 3!
