Tonight, Waterford Township Fire Department hosted the Wildland Structual Protection Class for the Camden County Wildland Strike Team and Task Force. The training was provided by the NJ Division of Forest Fire, a program designed to educate the fire service on the Structural Fire Protection needed from Municipal Fire Departments during large scale Wildland fire incidents.

Waterford Township residents, please utilize caution in the area of the Old Atco Raceway while on Jackson Road. Road conditions are deteriorating due to wind pushing the snow/ice onto the roadway. Camden County PW is on location with a plow and salt.

A firefighter from the Camden Fire Department has died after he fell into the icy waters of the Delaware River late Thursday morning.

Tonight, members beared the cold to train on ice rescue awareness and operations. Each qualified member entered the ice/water to train on proper ice rescue techniques for safe operations. Thank you to Waterford EMS for providing an Ambulance and crew to standby during the training efforts.

With the anticipated snow this weekend, please help the fire department by cleaning the snow away from any fire hydrants near your home. This prevents a delayed use of the hydrant in the event of an emergency. The fire department will be out clearing the snow but your help is greatly appreciated. Stay safe!

We have added Saturday 12/20 to our schedule this year. Santa will be visiting from 3-6p that day.

Ho, Ho, Ho! Santa signups will start on our website Monday, 12/1 by Noon (sign up instructions will be posted then).

For those residents new to Waterford Township, Atco Volunteer Fire Company #1, with the assistance of the WTFD, make individual home visits to residents who sign up for an appointment. Visits are made in the evening over a 6 day period in December. Santa may visit 1 street multiple times and other streets not at all depending on his schedule. Appointments available until the schedule is full.y
