With Trump’s huge cuts to the IRS, Billionaires are able to cheat us out of huge amounts. Much of the tax debt can be laid at the feet of the Republican Congresses since about 2011. The IRS is essentially unable to audit the billionaires so too many are cheating.

We lose tax income the equivalent of entire the budget we spend on Medicaid. Far more than the money we spent on aid to Africa that Musk cut.

Of recent voting trends, one of the most interesting is in Southeast Ohio. Voters there consistently elect legislators who don’t represent their interests.

For example, they vote against SE Ohio children. State funding for local schools is at a record low 32 percent, putting many local schools in or near crisis. Meanwhile, they are voting to subsidize the private school tuition of affluent Ohio families. Even if private schools were available in SE Ohio (which they’re not), it’s doubtful whether SE Ohio families could send their children to private school, even with a discount. That’s not school choice; that’s welfare for the wealthy.
