Northeast Georgia Area Agency on Aging This page serves to inform about issues that impact older adults, individuals with disabilities, and caregivers.

The Aging and Disability Resource Center is a collaborative effort of the Administration on Aging and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services designed to streamline access to long term care. The Aging and Disability Resource Connection (ADRC) is the phone line that gives you access to information on local human services for older adults or disabled persons. The Aging and Disability Resource Connection, a program within the Northeast Georgia Area Agency on Aging, provides information and referrals to services and resources that assist older adults and disabled individuals to age in place within their communities. Trained, caring professionals are ready to listen and provide service from a person-centered approach. Whether you need information on your parents, a disabled individual (child/adult), or yourself, the ADRC works with Community Connection (211) to put you in touch with for-profit and non-profit providers of services for older adults and disabled consumers. The Georgia Council on Aging team was honored to join Governor Brian Kemp, the Georgia Department of Human Services (DAS), the Alzheimer's Association, Georgia Chapter Alzheimer's Association on, and other partners at the Georgia State Capitol in recognition of Alzheimer’s awareness and the importance of brain health across Georgia.

While June is Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month, our commitment to raising awareness, supporting caregivers, encouraging early detection, and reducing the stigma surrounding Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias continues all year long.

And we’re not stopping here! 💜

Next up: September is World Alzheimer’s Month, an international campaign led by Alzheimer's Disease International that brings organizations and communities around the world together to challenge stigma, increase understanding of dementia, and encourage conversations about Alzheimer’s disease.

Together, we can continue building a stronger, more informed, and dementia-friendly Georgia.
