We end each forest school day with nature journaling. 📝
 A moment to pause, observe, and record what the land shared with us — a leaf, a bird call, a feeling. ✨

Nature journaling supports emotional regulation, observation skills, creativity, and a lasting sense of belonging outdoors. It’s not about perfection — it’s about presence.

Today in the forest classroom, we got hands-on with nature! 🌿✨ The children helped make goldenrod salve using oil and beeswax, learning how this simple herbal remedy can soothe cuts, bug bites, and sore muscles. We also started a fresh batch of infused oil for future salve-making and added some goldenrod to our sun tea for the day. 🍵💛

It’s always exciting to see how the plants around us can be healing, nourishing, and part of our daily learning.

Autumn has arrived, and we’re soaking it all in! 🍂 From creek explorations and muscadine harvests to nature journaling and story time under the trees, our days are full of discovery, play, and wonder. There’s nothing like little feet running through crisp leaves and curious hands connecting with the world around them. 🌿✨

🍂 Fall Into the Forest! 🌳
Our Forest School Fall Semester begins August 18, and enrollment is now open for children ages 3–10!

At Wild Earth’s Forest School, children engage in place-based learning, where the natural world is both classroom and teacher. Each day offers opportunities to:
🍄 Investigate local ecosystems
📚 Develop skills in observation, inquiry, and resilience
🌼 Explore edible and medicinal plants
👣 Build strong peer connections through collaborative play and exploration

Through seasonal rhythms and nature-based routines, we nurture the whole child — supporting cognitive, physical, emotional, and social growth in an outdoor environment rich with sensory and experiential learning.

Join us at Wild Earth Camp on June 11 from 10 AM – Noon for a hands-on, outdoor experience the whole family will love!

✨ Make your own natural bug spray and enjoy quality time with your kids, your community, and the natural world!

We'll kick things off by exploring the wonders of yarrow and lemon balm, then craft our own natural bug spray with Caitlyn from Moon Medicine Collective.

Afterward, kids can enjoy free play in the forest—a chance to move, imagine, and explore.It’s the perfect way to connect with nature, your children, and your community.
