The Northeast Health District’s Specialty Care Clinic is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to provide professional nursing and clinical care services in accordance with nurse protocols for clients with HIV/AIDS. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience working with culturally diverse and/or vulnerable populations, including sexual minorities and persons who have mental health or substance misuse disorders. Broad knowledge and at least 1 year of experience managing HIV, STI/STD, and other communicable diseases in the clinical setting is preferred.

During extremely hot and humid weather, your body's ability to cool itself is challenged. When the body heats up too rapidly to cool itself properly, or when too much fluid or salt is lost through dehydration or sweating, body temperatures rise and you or someone you care about may experience a heat-related illness. It is important to know the symptoms of extreme heat exposure and the appropriate responses. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) provides a list of warning signs and symptoms of heat illness and recommended first aid steps: https://www.cdc.gov/niosh/heat-stress/about/illnesses.html

When in doubt, call 9-1-1; heat stroke and related illnesses are medical emergencies.
