Ohio University Students Defending Students Community Standards assistance by students, for students, since 1976. SDS is a non-profit organization composed of an all-volunteer staff of students.

Ohio University Students Defending Students—SDS for short—was founded in 1976 as a subsidy of Student Senate. For years, we have been providing students with help and advice as they work through the process of the Office of Community Standards and Student Responsibility. Students Defending Students is not a legal organization. Therefore, we are not authorized to give legal advice of any kind. If y

ou need legal advice, please visit the Center for Student Legal Services. SDS Student Advisors...
• Accompany accused students to Procedural Interviews, Administrative Hearings, and University Hearing Boards
• Advocate for student-related issues at the University and in the community
• Educate their peers on their rights as students and as community members
• Suggest other resources for issues that cannot be resolved through SDS.
