Burney-Harris-Lyons Middle School has spent the past two days honoring our scholars with awards and ceremonies. As we close out this school year, we celebrate more than grades. We celebrate the accomplishments of our students, faculty, and staff. Friendships have been made and memories will be carried forward.

We are so proud of how far all our students have come. Wherever the next year carries you, may you embrace the new start. Dream big, work hard, and be kind. Wishing everyone a restful summer!

During our Moving On Ceremony, we unintentionally omitted one of our outstanding students for her academic accomplishment. We are pleased to congratulate Maleeyah Gates for earning all A's this school year. This achievement reflects exceptional dedication, perseverance, and hard work. We are incredibly proud of her and want to make sure she receives the recognition she truly deserves. BHL kicked off Mental Health Awareness Week this morning. Ms. Garth, Mr. Harrigan, and Ms. Joyner set up an out-of-this-world coffee bar with breakfast treats. An invitation to write a letter to yourself was set up as an activity. We are all reminded to reflect on the things that make us happy and bring us joy. Compassion also includes yourself. What a beautiful way to start the day.
