He will be discussing accountability courts, which encompass venues like drug and mental health courts and other alternatives to incarceration. Lunch will be served!

Hey, I just wanted to let you all know about a reception for Michelle Nunn tomorrow, 10/15 in Athens (at The Hill) from 5:30-7:00pm. This event is free for students with an ID. For those of you who don’t know, Michelle is the daughter of Sam Nunn, a former senator from Georgia who was a prominent figure on the Senate Armed Services Committee, and she is the former CEO of the Points of Light Foundation. The address for The Hill is 1800 Crescent Ln, Athens, GA 30607 – it’s set back a bit from the road, so don’t be surprised if at first you don’t see it. Let me know if you have any questions – hope to see you there!

Looking forward to supporting one of our own, Jason Carter ('04), in his bid for governor in 2014!

Carter has been a state senator representing Decatur for three years. He instantly became a political star in part because he is a grandson of former president Jimmy Carter. Carter would become the favorite to win the Democratic nomination next year. But he also faces long odds.
