REMINDER that during our modified District Office summer schedule (June 1 through July 17), the office will be open 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Monday through Thursday and closed on Fridays. In addition to the Fridays during this timeframe, we will be closed on Thursday, June 18, and Thursday, July 2. We will resume regular business hours (8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Monday through Friday) on Monday, July 20.

Another successful Clarke Connects Educator Externships Week wrapped up today, as our team of educators from CCSD middle and high schools reported back on what they learned at their job shadowing sites this week and the lessons and information they'll share with their students to help them find their future career path and strengthen the workforce in Athens-Clarke County!

Drop by Coile Middle School TODAY! Weekend bundled meals for those who need it - available on a first-come, first-serve basis starting at 4:30 p.m.!

Tomorrow (June 4th) is the day to pick up bundled weekend meals at Coile Middle School! Meals can be picked up starting at 4:30pm! Bundles will be available on a first come, first serve basis. Once we run out of bundles, we will close for the day!

Follow the signs that will lead you to a side entrance of the school cafeteria. There will be some paperwork to complete, then we will connect you with your bundle of meals! Parents and guardians can pick up meal bundles for their children 18 years of age or younger.

REPORT CARD REWARDS!

Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services has teamed up with the Athens-Clarke County Library in their Summer Reading Program to offer a Summer Pool Pass to all participating students who read 10 books or more!

Also, if any CCSD students bring their report cards to a park office where a pool is located, they can receive 10 Free Swims if their report card lists All A's or B's for middle/high school students or All E's and M's for elementary school students!

Finally, all report cards with All A's, All E's, or Perfect Attendance for the 2025-26 school year will also receive a Summer Pool Pass!

Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Scott kicked off our two-day June Leadership Meeting yesterday with a message focusing on strengthening the Culture of Literacy in CCSD and throughout Athens-Clarke County as the core of our work.

School and district leaders also heard a presentation from Dr. Garry McGiboney and Arianne Weldon of Get Georgia Reading, focusing on literacy as a public health issue with multiple influencing factors and providing strategies on how we can effectively address and improve literacy rates in our schools and throughout the community.

Leaders spent the second half of the day with a deep dive into their student performance and attendance data from the past year, sharing successes to build off and areas of growth to focus on. The work will continue all day today with a more intensive look at their school improvement plans and building a game plan to best position their schools to have the best year yet in 2026-27!
