📢🚨 Outdoor Warning Siren Test – Wednesday, September 2nd, 2026

Limestone County Emergency Management will conduct the monthly outdoor warning siren test today at 9:15 a.m.

⚠️ This is only a test. No action is required.

As a reminder, outdoor warning sirens are tested on the first Wednesday of each month at 9:15 a.m., weather and operational conditions permitting.

The Limestone County commission will close Union Hill Road between Shelton Road and Sugar Creek Road to replace cross drain today (9-1-26). This will be from 8-3pm, residents will be allowed access on either side of the closure.

The Limestone County Commission will be paving Johnson Street between Looney Road and Yarbrough Road today (8-27-26) from 8-3pm. This is closed to thru-traffic, residents will still be allowed. See it on the map @

An organized complex of thunderstorms will bring threats for locally damaging winds (50-60 MPH), frequent lightning and heavy rainfall/flooding to the region this afternoon (12 PM - 6 PM). Impacts from this system will likely be greatest across the western half of the region.

- At 129 AM CDT, emergency management reported heavy rain in
Broadcast media recently reported that Church Street in Decatur
was impassable due to high water. due to thunderstorms. Flooding
is already occurring. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen.
- Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
expected.

the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.
