Athens Utilities Board Water Division crews will be flushing water lines and fire hydrants throughout the city this week during regular daytime hours (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.), weather permitting.

This important preventive maintenance helps ensure clean, sediment-free water and reliable service year-round.

**What customers may experience:**
💧 Periods of low water pressure as crews work through different areas.
💧 Slightly cloudy water during and shortly after flushing. This is normal and should clear up with time.

We appreciate your patience as our Water Division works to maintain the quality and reliability of your water system. If you have questions, please contact AUB at 423-745-4501.

In our little corner of Athens, we know the heart of a community is its mothers.

To the moms at Athens Utilities Board, to the moms across our community, and to the wives and mothers who hold things together at home while our crews work long hours during outages—we see you.

While lights, water or gas is being restored, you’re keeping the porch light on.
While trucks are on the road, you’re keeping supper warm.
While storms may roll through, your steady love keeps families grounded.

The work of serving a community doesn’t belong only to the ones in the utility trucks. It also belongs to the moms who comfort tired kids, carry on with bedtime routines, and keep home feeling like home until everyone makes it back through the door.

This Mother’s Day, Athens Utilities Board thanks every mother in our community for the quiet strength, sacrifice, and love that keep Athens shining.

Happy Mother’s Day.
