Road Closures Thread (Updated 10:55 a.m.)

Here is a list of county roads closed because of flooding. This list will be updated as new information is received.

-- County Road 1500 East and West is closed
-- The bridge at County Road 1507 is flooded and not passable
-- County Road 1113 is flooded at the creek and is not passable
-- County Road 2448 is under water
-- Pritchett Road in Seven Points is closed from Jess Hinton to County Road 2105
-- County Road 2139 south of 85 is closed
-- County Road 2428 east is closed
-- County Road 3715 is washed out and closed
-- The bridge on County Road 3918 was washed over and is not passable
-- The bridge on FM 316 by Purtis Creek is flooded
-- County Road 3822

The Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) encourages citizens to report storm damage to property by submitting a damage assessment survey. This morning's storms caused damage throughout Henderson County.

Texans can report damage to homes and businesses using the Individual State of Texas Assessment Tool (iSTAT) damage survey. The information provided in the survey aids emergency management officials gain an understanding of damages that have occurred and help officials determine if the state meets federal requirements for various forms of disaster assistance, as well as identify any immediate resource needs.

The iSTAT damage survey can be filled out in English and Spanish online by visiting https://pstat.tdem.texas.gov/

Just some good information

The National Weather Service is forecasting frigid weather to start the week.

According to the NWS: "A strong cold front will bring gusty northwest winds up to 40 mph on Sunday, and a Wind Advisory may be necessary. The combination of cold temperatures and gusty winds will create wind chill values in the teens and single digits on Monday and Tuesday morning. Bundle up if you plan on heading outdoors!"

Currently, the forecast doesn't show much chance of precipitation, but that could change so make sure to monitor the weather reports.

11/5/24 Henderson County burn ban has been lifted.

On 10/29/24 the Henderson County Commissioner Court voted to extend the Burn Ban for an additional 28 days.

Powerful storms ripped through Henderson County in the past week leaving a trail of damage in every precinct. In the face of this adversity, our community came together with resilience and determination.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who worked long hours under challenging conditions. This includes the Sheriff's Office, the Emergency Management Office, and specifically Shane and Mae Renberg, along with county precinct workers. Your dedication is deeply appreciated.

A special thank you to the volunteer fire departments, first responders, and Brownsboro ISD for their assistance following the Coffee City tornado. We also acknowledge Oncor and Trinity Valley Electric Cooperative for their efforts in restoring power and ensuring safety.

To all the volunteers who helped clear streets and supported residents affected by the storms, your generosity and hard work did not go unnoticed. While we can't name everyone individually, please know that your contributions were important and greatly appreciated.
